 Planning Board

The Planning Board has the responsibility to review site plans submitted for real estate development prior to construction. In reviewing the site plans, the Planning Board considers such elements as environmental impact, access, parking, screening, signs, landscaping, location and dimensions of buildings, adjacent land use and physical features meant to protect those uses. The Planning Board then makes recommendations to the applicant with respect to those elements before decision whether to accept the site plan.  All applications for the planning board must be submitted prior to the 20th of the month in order to be scheduled for the following month's agenda. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month. These meetings are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  The Planning Board meets as needed and / or required once an application has been received.

History of our Zoning Code

As required by New York State Village Law (section 7-710) the village appointed a seven member Zoning Commission to review current zoning as it applies to the new village. Afterwards these seven members made a preliminary report and held public hearings to hear from the public. After these public hearings the Zoning Commission submitted their final report to the village board. The village board then had their own public hearing regarding the zoning for the village. Upon adoption of a resolution by the board of trustees of the village accepted the final report, the Zoning Commission was dissolved. The village board will then staffed a Planning Board and a Zoning Board of Appeals.

As of March 1, 2009 the Village adopted our first Zoning Code and has accepted application, letters of intent, and resumes from Village residents for the open positions in our Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

On May 4, 2009 the Village appointed its first Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. The Village Board would like to thank the Zoning Commissioners for their support and assistance in creating our first zoning code.
